On Tuesday September 20, 2011 we will be launching some significant design changes to BikerOrNot.
We continuously gather feedback from the BON community and try to implement these suggestions into every new design.
But as we all know, CHANGE is not always popular.
Our goals include making the site more useful, reliable, faster, and safer for the BON community.
The most noticeable change is to the individual profiles. Information is now more concise, easier to read and you’ll be able to see the feeds of each member.
We have added an Account link on the upper left side of the page. This is now where you will Edit Account setting and Edit Profile.
As always, we welcome feedback (good or bad).

you really need to make it so each screen name/nick…sign on name is individual to that person only, so there is not all this cloning and stuff. This is the first site I have come across in 15 years that allows numerous people to have the exact same sign on name, that just begs for trouble!!

leave it alone, yer gettin more like facebook everytime & it worked fine before you started “fixing” it….we are bikers, or at least some of us are. if it’s “too complicated” as some state then go back to gradeschool. sheesh

PLEASE PLEASE if at all possible, change profiles to include height and weight. This has caused me problems several times when I met someone in person. All other sites I’m on have this feature. I do like your site. Thank you, Sandy

When we having numerous conversations,it get’s very irritating having to scroll to the bottom of the page if we need to refer back to what was said.We need to put the last conversation to the top over the page.

How do i get back to log in page after loged on ??? If i click on a square on log in page it will not let me look at everything on there page unless i log in. & when i log in i can’t get back to the log in page.

I think the site is just fine the way it is and I’m not afraid of change . But every time something get changed a lot of Members will go to a different Site because they get frustrated. I would hate that to happen this is a Great site and I myself have made some good friends on here some life long friends. why touch something that is already good.

Hi, I don’t like the idea of anyone reading my feeds when they are not my friends…….things should be hidden and only visible to who we choose.
It would also be nice if we could log on and be hidden, so if we choose not to
to be seen by anyone then we won’t be.
And third, why not allow private IM’S but have to be asked first just incase we don’t
want to chat with someone.

Before, you had it so that anyone could comment on any event posted. Now, you have to JOIN the event to comment.
Why did you change that???
It was perfect before, and now, you have to join an event to comment.
So it goes like this….I have to join the event, just to post the comment….
“Sorry, won’t be able to make this one”. Or whatever. Put it back like it used to be on the event pages.

Personally, I do not like this one bit. I like it the way it was. All I can see from all of my friends posts, is that they do not like it either. Would really like it to back to the way it was. Our walls are gone and we all liked those too.

I’m a big fan of this site am loving it, however it seems that the changes are not going over well and several friends are really not liking the idea. I’m not sure about them myself but will give it a couple of days Thank for creating this outlet for bikers

Im seriously not happy with your changes my pretty page is now gone like it when you go to a profile and see their designs and heard their music like mine used to be. I know its now in more information but mines all jumbles and u cant read anything. Please leave it alone the was it was was fine. Been on here two yrs and really not happy!!

Well now that I’ve seen the changes I must say that I DO NOT like it at all. Seemed much nicer to click on someone’s profile and see all of the things they have to say about themselves rather than all of the posts they have made. I agree with the others that feel like it was better before. Yes, sometimes change is needed, but for myself, it wasn’t the best decision here. Guess I’ll spend more time at the other sites now instead of this one. DISLIKE the change!

I do not like this, it was much better the way it was. People’s profiles tell a lot about them, it’s a way to get to know people, by their music and how they describe themselves.

So you forced up to not have a profile and the Profile page now looks like our Feed page. I see no need or improvement to the changes. We were able to see our Feed when we wanted too, and not you have replace our Profile with them. I do not like the new changes. Please put it back the way it was.

Wagon wasnt really broken, why fix it? BON had alot of great features already in place.
You don’t want to smell like facebook do you? A lot of people aren’t on facebook because they don’t like a lot of these things that you’re implementing.
Having age & horoscope sign is fine, but to post our birthdates up on the profile summary (not cool).
Tried to invite someone to be a friend, instead, they automatically become a friend?
Let’s have a feature to search for those wanting to ride on the backseat, or those that are offering a back seat. Either fulltime or to specific events. (would be a nice BIKER site feature!)
Profile options should include entering height & weight for those that want to narrow their searchs based on preference since this is a biker/social/dating network….btw, where’s hell did my garage & my bike go?
Event dates should be editable at any time. Rain (& other things) happens!!!!
Allowing friends to be organized by proximity would be awesome & would simplify things.
You shouldn’t have more than 1 person using a certain screen name. (also not cool)
Photo posting & organizing should be made simpler.
Having us show as “online” should be a feature left to our discretion whether we want to or not.
Email option great, but as someone pointed out, Instant messenger & chat rooms are long over due.
Commenting on an event should not require joining that event.

BON was fine the way it was….who is the “genius” that came up with this change, certainly not a biker….I should congratulate you, though, you have successfully pissed off many people on here, and if all works out well for you, you should stand to lose quite a few members….consider myself to be one…..you have gone over the top, but have dropped down the other side with a huge splash of mud…..kudos techies!

Honestly, not happy with all the changes.
I.E. –
-When someone leaves a comment on your feed you can no longer click on the “1 comment” to see it – you have to go to your profile.
- Top Photos is gone
- I am not on facebook or plently of fish for a reason – you made it look just like them
- you can only see your friends – the old photos allowed you to see other people without searching for new peeps
Maybe you could add a new members section – profiles of new members are on that for a month or so
-Cant see friends comments on others photos
this is just my first impression – I am sure as i look around i will find more – but as it is i am not real happy with it – sorry

I am limited to almost anything n everything. We went thru time to set up our pages and You destroyed them. I had Tributes to My MOM & friends who died and they are gone.
You made this into a Corporate world. There is no more warm or fire or any character that represents what the people are about. And You made this decision and we dont have a say so????
Im sure You will say this section is our say so, but we know You wont change it back. You make the decisions and we can complain but we have No Say So!

Everything is screwed. Site does not work in manner that is user friendly to what already was making the site a success. Yes fine tuning was needed, but you have been arrogant enough to throw out the very best parts & leave a FB look-a-like that does not work for a format for the biker world. Did you ever even think that the FB way may not be the only way? Is it that you can’t handle anything but FB? You have ruined the profile’s, lost the wall’s & with that info that cannot be retrieved. Made the site more complicated to use. GET OVER YOUR OWN ARROGANCE & PUT IT BACK

It seems to be all about YOUR advertising, not how we may want our pages to look to others. We are all ‘Generic’ now! I joined BON 3yrs ago (not sure if I will stay now)! You never answer messages sent to you about problems. NEVER have you returned a reply. Hey I’m all about change. But not when it is not well thought out. I agree with ‘Lady Biker’ Why Fix it when it’s not broken. Oh wait, again it is to fit more Advertising for YOU.
I will be using FB more now to communicate as to where rides are happening, and be on BON less & less and then Not At All. Damn, I should have kept all those ‘Spam’ers’ msgs as to joining there site!! They may have had something there! WAIT, I think I kept a few addresses.

Very bad changes, I don’t want people to be able to post stuff on my page unless it’s a comment on something I put up. Now anyone can put anuthing on my page and unless i log in and check all the time it will be there for all to see, very bad plan.
also if someone comments on your status, you should be able to delete that without having to remove the whole status update/feed.
go back to how it was, make small changes and see how they work and how your users react.

The new ‘introduction’ makes everything look like one long sentence… in the last format I could add a new paragraph which a line break.. but with the new format everything is clumped together.. it makes it look messy.
Same with the ‘favourite quotes’ section…. i have about 4 favourite quotes on my profile… but because its all ‘clumped’ together now it looks like one long incomprehensible quote… please change this back…
Please dont go down the line of ‘if it aint broke.. then fix it until it is’

Guys we are here because this AIN’T FACEBOOK…..Please just put it back like it was. I have see many people leave this site because of y’all changing it.
This time I am calling for a boycott of advertisers until it is changed back. You may be the owners of this site but the ONLY reason the advertisers give you money is to get to us.
If they think we won’t buy their products because of what you are doing here they will be gone along with their money.
If you don’t want a biker site any more just shut it down and start a regular dating site. Bikers are the reason this site has flourished and if you keep messing with us it will be the reason of it’s demise. There are other sites out there that are just as good!
In short I and from the looks of it are not happy with the “changes” you have made.

The changes in the past weren’t to bad to get use to so I will try to be open minded about these BUT, what happened to top photos. That was one thing I enjoyed alot seeing the pics of rides, fun and new things in others lives. Granted the barage of vain ladies and the comments from over sexed guys got monotinous but didn’t warrent eliminating top photos. And the new lay out of the profile is a real slap in the face. I spent a lot of time putting together that profile. Now it is just a routine collection of facebook spaces. If this is what I can excpect on here BON will fade away in short time

I have not had a chance to really look at all the changes but I do not like what I am seeing so far! I looks too much like my FaceBook Page which is not why I came to your website! I liked the difference with BON and it appeared more like something built for Hotorcycle people could meet, talk and have fun!
Next time you decide to make some changes why not ask some of us to try the new stuff and give you our input as does Microsoft!

Hate the “new and improved” BON. WOW! Looks like a cookie-cutter version of most other social media sites. THe GREAT thing about the old BON was that it was different, unique.
Now it’s just like all the others.
PLEASE consider going back to old BON. The new one just has NO personality…no character.

It was fine the way it was. Now you can’t see my background on more info, and I loved it. It was nice to personalize your page and have everyone see it when they first went to your page, now they have to look for it. I don’t like the wall being gone, I enjoyed getting cute harley posts, or posts for the days of the week, would like to have that back.

You removed the FEED feature. Restore the FEED feature as it allowed users to view comments that were cut short in their entirety. The wall shows only the comments partially.

This does suck you guys and our walls are gone but profiles and playlist are under “More Information”, which can be found under one’s profile pic. I still want it back the way it was…home, profile and wall all look the same and you can’t view comments on your post unless you go to your new profile page…the genius that came up with this brilliant idea needs to be demoted and the supervisor of that genius needs to be fired

I don’t like that you can’t see my whole profile. Also don’t like how you have to go to your profile just to see your comments. Very time consuming to go back and forth from feed to profile after every comment. I made my profile on here the way I wanted it done, not for someone to come along and do it the way they want. I have alot of long time friends on here but I’m really ready to go to another one of many bike sites that doesn’t mess with our personal profile.

1. Thank you for BON. It is my favorite site by far and has allowed me to make friends, meet with them, and ride with them.
2. The new changes in presentation are terrible. The profile introduction jumbles information and makes it harder to read. Having to search for more information is discouraging and user unfriendly. When the continuation of the profile is found, it is again a jumbled mess.
The previous lay-out allowed easy perusal of other’s profiles. That is no longer the case.
Many comments refer to Facebook-like features. I’m not on FB so I don’t know but the new changes are not welcome.
3. Readily seeing who is on-line, photos, and photo comments are very important and should be easy to do.
4. Being able to filter the users by their attributes should be easy to do.
5. Life on BON would be far better if you had a IM feature like Yahoo. It is easier to conduct a “duplex” chat than the “simplex” mail-like messaging that now happens.

I worked really hard at generating my own layout and now most of what I worked on is gone. I liked being able to express myself here, it was so much better than Facebook because my page reflected who I am and much of what I like. When comments are left on the comments that I make on fan pages, I have to scroll for a mile to find them. If I reply then I have to search twice as far to see it again. I had to delete one of my bikes because the bike I ride was wrong after your changes. There is no way to generate a good layout here anymore with colors I like and fonts and text sizes I prefer. You ruined it. Put it back the way it was and stop fucking with what was a good thing.

My profile page has been a source of pride, with many hours of work put into it. There were pictures, graphics, videos that I no longer have, including a tribute to my late niece, and memoriams to all of the friends we’ve lost. What could you possibly be thinking to erase all of these mementos, without asking an opinion??? I WANT MY PROFILE PAGE BACK, and EVERYTHING that was on it!!!

The ride ended when you started changing this site a year or so ago now the plug just needs to be pulled as this site is on life support and the ones providing the juice for it just quit caring!!!

No One I have talked to likes anything about these changes you have made. I see no improvement in functionality. If I de-select any category on the whosonline page (married, relationship etc) I get NO results at all. I HAVE TO leave all selected.
I don;t think anyone want to open a page to their FEEDS!! If I click on a profile I want to read about that person..not what they have placed in their status for the last month.
Why don’t you add some features we need? Height and body type is something important on a motorcycle for one. Being able to search messages or at least sort them by username would be nice also.

I Love my BON but am not happy about the new changes. I have a facebook and am hardly on there…on here daily for several hours at a time…this looks too much like facebook. The home page isn’t so bad…not much different from before, but the profile page is the part I don’t like. My page was personalized and I like being different…some things are still there but my background is gone. Also, the personal description at the top isn’t easier to read…it was better the old way in my opinion. There are some bugs you still need to work out like clicking on the “view comments” from the home page isn’t working and when you click to see your wall it just refreshes your profile page. Please re-consider putting back some of the old…Also, it was Great to see Motorcycles on Profiles since this site is suppose to be centered around bikers.

Yeah, if you paid a consultant to come up with these changes, get your money back. They obviously didn’t consult the users. I know it’s a free site, but friends are planning on dropping out in droves. Bring back new members, top photos and make it so I can see what the new comments are. I know it’s being worked on, but I’d ask the users what needs playing with.

The new design sucks… those people ( including myself ) that took great pride in the design of their “profile” page lost all that hard work when you changed the page. Just like facebook… you had a good thing… had a good thing. The new page has no life or character to it anymore. PLEASE take it back to the way it was!

I’m not fond of the new changes either. I pretty much agree with everyone else!! Also you can not zoom in on the photos anymore and that was a great feature. When I tried to edit my info it wouldn’t let me. I’m hoping that you listen to every one & put BON back the way it was – PLEASE

My complaint concerns our personal info on our home page.
When someone is looking for a riding partner it would avoid
what could be a very bad situation if their relationship status
was still showing and if they have their own bike or are looking

At times change is necessary and a good thing, but in this case, no so. Change just for the sake of change is not usually a good thing. That appears to be what is happening here. My friends and I are all contemplating migrating to another site if this problem isn’t addressed shortly. BON was a great site that we all loved and enjoyed with many old and new friends until now. Re-think your decision or it appears your membership will suffer a reduction in membership on a large scale.

There is a new problem in that when I sort by females in a state and I start to review there profile, I used to be able to click the back button and go back to the list of females to continue to review, now when I click the back button I go all the way back to the beginning with a listing of all males/females in any state instead of the specific gender in a particular state.
Can that be fixed?

I spent a long time making my profile page look like it did, made my own background to suit me, my page was ME!!! BikerWytch!!!! everything I wrote in my introduction now just runs together and is very hard to even read, even for me and I wrote it.

No matter how hard you try and claim it is better site than what it was, it clearly isn’t. Look at all the comments!!
It was simple and effective, it worked, which is why BON grew to what it is today.

Love the changes, particularly the backseat available/want to ride (the bold type addition to the profiles, as more ladies put that info on there they will certainly get more rides.
May I suggest adding members height to profiles. I understand women don’t want to list their weight. I am 5’7″ and would like to meet ladies near or less than my height.

I’m glad Top Photos is back, but before it left Top Photos used to also show all the comments my friends were making on photos. This was a really nice feature.
Now I feel like I’m missing out on what people are talking about. Now I have to go through all my friends photos, one at a time, to see if anyone is making a comment.
Please bring back my friends photo comments to Top Photos!

I stopped comming here daily because of the design change. The background I had, it was one I had added to. It was one I wasusing, but I changed my colors in the font, added things into it, making the background ONE OF A KIND, and now I dont even have the code for the background!
