Today we upgraded the BON message system.
You will notice a slightly different layout but with all the same features.
The biggest change is in the ‘Compose’ section. You can now send the same message to multiple people.
Another new feature is the ability to forward a message.

You should make the email….Where we can DELETE all messages at one time.

I have notices set to my e-mail from BON when a message or comment is made. Yet the link in that message ALWAYS says “message never exsisted or was deleted. This is not correct since the message and comments are there when O go to the site directly. It is very difficult to find comments since you have to check every commentable post one at a time. Sure wish something could be done. How about fixing the links and posting “NEW COMMENTS” on Home page so pics or comments are listed and findable?????

There is no delete button for the message. So you need to open a message to delete it. That is a pain when you are just trying to clean up the inbox.

Evidently There Is A Bug When Deleting Messages From Trash. You Have To Delete One Message At A Time And It Doesn’t Delete The Message…It Restores It To The Inbox!

NOt sure I”m doing somethun right here..I can’t send any emails? I go to send message..and nothun happens..I go to Compose (new) and put in friends name…and again..nothun happens…

Please put the delete feature back on the trash and sent, Its a pain doing it one at a time. Other than that everything else is great!

Why is it when I delete my messages now they reappear. I can send them all to the trash file and delete them from there and they go back to my in box or sent box.

hey why did you get rid of the multi delete function on the messaging sections you need those in all the sections like in box saved an sent an trash too please try to put them back

Can’t open any of the comments that people post to me. Also get an e-mail telling me of the posting but click on it and get message that says “message never exsisted or was deleted. But it is still under my post, just can’t open it.

This new feature sucks,
I keep getting e-mails that I have a message,
and every time I click on the link in my e-mail.
I get a message that it’s been deleated.
Just putting my .02 into it.

The old version of the compose feauture was so much better. It is much easier to hit on the picture of your friend or friends than it is to have to remember their screen names. Also by see all of your friends gathered on one page, it can jog your memory with regard to speaking to someone you haven’t talked to in a while.
Please bring this feature back.

I also think that people who RECEIVE the multiple message, must be on your friends list… this would stop mass emails for certain zip codes etc.

The new email messaging, especially using ‘reply’ is not good! While trying 2 do just that, it continually ‘sends’ it b4 I’m even done!! Hello! What’s up w/that??

Most of the issues posted on here can be resolved by clearing the “Cache” and/or “Cookies” of the device being used. For me it was my cell phone with 50% of the issues posted to this Blog. For other devices (laptop or desktop) applies accordingly. I will answer questions via e-mail or message only, not thru this Blog. I’m just another BON member trying to assist BON’ers….

Hi, this has nothing to do with the new messages, but i have tried sending BON several messages, comments, everything,,, trying to find out why i can never log out of BON,, it always takes me back to the home page,, I hate not being able to log out,,
is anyone else having this trouble ???????????

Well, looks like no photos being sent anywhere now? There is no more wall…. Top Photos….you cant send codes anymore anywhere…. and now you cant send even a pic through an email or message? Your own photo album and thats it? I dont understand why the deleting of all the pics throughout the site? Pictures are worth a thousand words! And a good way to communicate! Just saying! ANd I dont say to much anymore!

Socializing on the internet is driven by sharing photos (& music)…. please expand these features, for sending & receiving photos & videos…. and give us a feature that “notifies” us, that someone has left a message on one of our photos, and which of our friends have added new photos. This should be part of the ‘sharing experience’. Thanks.

The new BON message system seems nice but on the compose feature you must write in the screen name of each person you want to send a message to rather than select from a list the way you use to. Is this something you intend to do but not implemented yet? If not please do otherwise the previous message app was far better.

There are several things about the new format
1) being able to delete everything in the Trash folder at one time-liked the old way
2) When you receive a Friends request – I liked being able to view how many friends they had previously added, before I accept – this cuts down on the SPAMMERS
3) Still wish you would add Widow/Widower to the format – to some it may not seem that important-to those of us who are in that category, it means something…ALSO having not been successful at finding a “relationship” on here , I would like to narrow my search to men who are widowers – they understand what I and many others have gone through in the loss of our spouses – being divorced is NOT the same – feel I would rather ride with and see others in the same boat so to put it.

There is no subject for the message and there is also no way to attach links or pics. No way to add colors, change fonts, add bold, italics, underline and other fun stuff like before.

I can’t send messages because the scramble is messed up in some way–i can’t forward mail because it won’t let me put in the appropriate “friend”–it only pulls up a couple of friends with the same first letter–not all which makes it impossible to send the msg. The scramble is an irritating feature!!

Hello James.
Your efforts to improve BON are appreciated. The photo upload system is much better than before. However, many of the other changes make the site less user friendly.
–Miss the “Garage” section. Like knowing what people ride.
–Dislike having to go under “More Information” to see profile text. I previously commented that the formatting of the profile text was lost with the change. Now the descriptions look like a big jumble.
–Our messages now come up much smaller than before, harder to see. The average BON user is using reading glasses…something to keep in mind…
–You’ve removed send new message button from Messages. Not everything is a reply. If we want to start a new thread, now we are forced to start navigating to the profile to find the send message button.
–Used to be able to see that we responded to a given message. Messages to which we replied used to carry a marker arrow. Terrible to lose that.
–Lof Off button should be prominent and available on every screen, not hidden.
–Zoom feature obscures part of the picture and there is no way to scroll to see it all if desired.
–Using the back button on the address bar often takes you back 2 steps instead of to the previous page.
All-in-all, many of the recent changes are making BON less user friendly. Just providing feedback.

The changes made to Biker Or Not and the E-Mail or Messages and Profile page are so bad it is now like a facebook, exactly just a copy of facebook. You will be loosing thousands and thousands of user’s now. Before we had our own profile page with graphics and backgrownds and music player’s that deplict US as individuals and who we are and what we are about. Now we are just a face on a white page with a brief intro. It is boreing and before we would spend hours on here on each other’s pages reading there about me and likes and dislikes it was fun and intertaining, now its simple and boaring and we spend 2 mins on here send out “HELLO”S” find out were the events and rides are and get off, most people are going to other biker websites now. I have been on here since the beginning, I was in the first 300 people on here years ago and you couldnt keep me off here, for hours a day. Now I go on once a month if that. Thousands are leaving now, “THOUSANDS” friends dont respond to each other anymore. You took away what wasnt broken and you think you fixed it but you broke it. And the E-Mail or Messages now, every time you send a message you have to type in a code. OMG what a hassle, this is a big mistake to change something that millions of people loved. Just put the old Biker Or Not back on, this is boring and a copy of another site. If I wanted to be on “FACEBOOK” I would have joined that but I LOVED BON and now it is just plain and borring facebook….I wont stay much longer either. You really messed up a great website people…….Sista Tee

For the past few days all the messages i send come through blank….i send a greeting card every day and copy and paste it in the body of the message…..the ones i receive come through fine just the ones i have sent show up blank?? Any thoughts or suggestions?

The captchas gotta go! I create a message click send and then the warning pops up and no captcha is below it. I send a lot of messages to people I help here on BON and many are friends, if they accepted me as a friend anything I send them they accept it is not spam so why does it pop up when sending a message to a friend? I did startan event to have BON get rid of the captchs and a lot of people are joing it to prove no one likes it. http://www.bikerornot.com/Event/99164
If sending a message to a single member, a friend the captcha should not pop up at all. If sending mass message, one message to a lot of people not on my friend list thats understandable. but not needed all we have to do is delete so why are we subject to have this stupid time consuming app here especially when the captcha part dont show once the warning pops up no where to see the letters or to type it in. Plus so many are so unreadable we have to keep scrolling to find one we think we can see what it is, and even when done right it continues to keep popping up as many as 10 times so I give up and friends don’t get a message even a responce to one they sent me and this is horrifically wrong to put us through.

Y do I have to have a cell phone number to message someone? I am useing a computer not a cell phone!
