Earlier today we made some updates to BikerOrNot.
Don’t worry! We did not take anything away this time. We are now in the mode of adding features.
I would like to share with you some of the changes and get your feedback.
The most important change that I would like to summarize is to the Relationship Status settings.
To make things simpler all members are categorized as either Single or In A Relationship. Then, as an option, you can further classify your Relationship Status as Married, Complicated, Divorced or Widow(er). Similarly, if you are Single you can classify yourself as Complicated, Divorced or Widow(er). Again, this additional classification is completely optional.
Another change to your classification, and one that many have requested, is the ability to set a ‘Backseat Status.’ If you own a bike you can declare yourself as someone having an empty back seat and actively looking for someone to ride on the back of your bike. This will allow those looking to fill a back seat the ability to search for members who have an empty back seat. Similarly, you will be able to search for members that are looking for a back seat.
For example:
You are a guy and own a bike and have an empty back seat that you want to offer to a lady. You can narrow your search to women looking for an empty back seat. Or, if you are a lady looking for a back seat you can search for guys that have an empty back seat on offer.
Eventually this system will be integrated with events and will benefit those that want to attend and event but do not have a ride!
All of these settings are optional but will help define what you are trying to get out of using BON.
So, it’s crucial that you update your Profile Settings NOW.

‘WHY’ and ‘WHO’ is it’ that emailed to my profile/account and requested that i update my relationship status NOW ??????
…as my profile states….i am single….am NOT married…and therefore…its nobodys business’ exactly what i wish to state on my profile!

I like these changes. Many times I have an open back seat and willing to allow another to ride along. After all, it’s alot of these events that will allow members to meet the people they have been chatting with online and a chance to grow life long friendships. I like the simplification of the relationship status as well. It’s nice to be allowed to keep it simple and if one chooses, a chance to go further into detail.

In regard to this part………….

I changed my information to state that I am looking for a back seat, and I updated my profile, but no where on my profile do I “See” that. Not on the home page and not on “more information”. So where is it listed on my profile, so that others can see that I am looking for a back seat?

You know that we should think about this when we are complaining about something that BON is doing to THERE SITE. It is free and we should just be happy about that and quick complaining every time it doesn’t go your way..GET IT FREE, DOES NOT COST YOU A DIME, So WHY COMPLAIN

I like this update…. However, like Leenie, I too updated my profile but don’t see it….
Where is my “I am looking to ride on the back of someone else’s bike.” supposed to appear….?

Same question as Leenie and Dark Star. I updated, changed a few other things while I was at it, those things now show on my profile, but nothing about looking for a backseat…..
And as rod said, How come you get to have a blog and we don’t. I REALLY miss the blogs!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is totally crap, because if you have your own bike, you dont get to be on the back seat list!!! What about us women that have our own, but would still like to ride on the back seat????

We need an audible warning when a chat user sends a text. most of the time we are all multi tasking and not staring at the chat window waiting for text.

The option under riding habits says “I Ride” then you get 2 choices and you have to pick one… I would like to pick both as I do both. I ride with singles and couples, by myself, and with my ususal friends.

I have a dilemna….I am married…but haven’t seen my husband in over a year, plus I have a FWB….so…if I list married, then complicated…there is a good chance that single people will not look for me. Same goes with in a relationship….I would have to put single, but that wouldn’t really be honest. Also, some of my best friendships have started with, “so…what’s complicated?”

nobody’s happy with all your changes. it was working fine before. put it all back to the way it was. . . we had a section for back seats , and you got rid of it. you just keep screwing up this site more and more. NOT HAPPY WITH BON PAGE CHANGES. http://www.bikerornot.com/Page/460166

I’m “In a Relationship”, but then none of the optional options fit me, so I just left it blank. But why don’t you add “Committed”?
And… I check the box next to “we ride together” then click “update profile”. The page reloads and the box is unchecked.

I think the back seat option will help a lot of BON members meet and make new friends and /or create awesome relationships. I have my own motorcycle but also would enjoy riding on behind if I would be asked.
I did have some problems with updating my profile but I’m sure the bugs will get worked out. You will read all the comments and make adjustments I’m sure.
I enjoy your website and have met numerous people and made some very good friends. I haven’t found that right man yet but maybe someday.
Keep up the good work on this site. Not everyone will be happy about the changes but they will adjust eventually.

Why is it if you ride/own your own bike you can not have the option to select, I need a ride? I ride and own a bike but this does not mean I do not ride via being a passenger. I like being a passenger and so therefore the way you have set up this change I can only select I would like/need a ride is if I de-select that I own my own bike. This is saying a lady rider who owns her own bike can not choose to be a passenger. We all should have either option available, Need A ride and Have back seat available and we choose which is best for our circumstance.

the profile that came up was NOT MINE – it says greywolf = a widowed
male interested in males & females!!! I’m female for one & interested in males ONLY…
WHY is my email address & password CRISSCROSSED & attached to someone elses???????????????

I am on this site for friends only… WHY do I need to show a relationship status… thats personal to me… I have grinned and bared with all the other changes, I dont think Ill put up with this for much longer… its getting to ‘in depth’ for me

i do i report a scammer…an theif?…..an someone who is not single…..an the bike they have…on their profile..is a stolen bike.that he forged a title to?..plez…plz.respond to me…if not i will be leaving this site……….this is ridiculous….thought this was a great site…..a few others arent happy with this either…..so plz….plz..look into this….an get back with me…….thanks…

if i post something i can not see it, i do not see any friends comments, can’t read their profile nor any messages they send. i wasn’t kicked off bon, it’s some weird bug.
did report to tech dept but who knows if it will be addressed.

i would like to know why is it that every time you post a feed picture on a fan page or some ones profile it ends back up in your personal album, that is just causing so much grife an upsets cause me personaly if i want a picture on qoute in my photo album i would put it in there..can you please get back with me on this problem. thank you
