As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was jailed back in 2014 for plotting his wife Meggan’s murder, after allegedly attempting to pay an undercover police officer $1000 to kill her. The murder-for-hire plan originally sentenced him for six years in prison, but sources have announced that he was freed on December 17, 2016 – a fact that has been confirmed now by California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He served less than half of the sentence he was given back in 2014.
He pled guilty to the charges in February 2015, and his (former) As I Lay Dying bandmates attended his sentencing. When he pled guilty, he was facing up to 9 year in prison, and during his sentencing, his estranged wife Meggan asked for the maximum possible jail sentence to be doled out, along with a lifetime restraining order. She told the judge how an increasingly “dangerous” Lambesis had become, and that he texted her the day before his arrest requesting their children’s social security numbers and claimed it showed he was “tying up loose ends.”
This really sounds like the plot of a movie, but crazy enough, it’s all true. So what do you think lies ahead for the former frontman of one of the most popular rock bands out there today? He won’t have a band to go back to, as he literally destroyed them with as much as he was in and out of jail in the past. Do you think he’ll end up back in jail again? Watch Loudwire announce his freedom below while you think about. Sound off in the comments section!
