BMW, the German luxury vehicle manufacturer, has unveiled their newest motorcycle concept, and they have hopes that it’ll change the future of motorcycles. The concept bike has been named The Motorrad, and its focuses weigh heavily on balance, stylishness, technology, and safety. It’s a far cry from the traditional two wheels that we are all used to, as it comes with a pair of computerized goggles that let you select what you’d like to see on the road ahead.
The Motorrad honestly looks like the illegitimate love-child of the Batmobile, but the company boasts the bike’s modernized fashion, stating that this bike is self-balancing, won’t tip or throw the rider, and is equipped with sensors that will notify the rider if an accident is about to occur. BMW claims that the Motorrad will be the first in its generation of “smart” bikes, and that its so smart, no rider will ever need to wear a helmet – or protective gear for that matter – while operating the bike.
We now have smart phones, smart TVs, and smart cars, so it was only a matter of time before someone attempted the smart bike, right? Check out more about this BMW concept smart-bike below, and tell us in the comments if its something you’d ever consider giving a try. Do you think old school bikes will always win out over more technologically advanced products like the Motorrad?
