The 2017 Ducati 1299 Superleggera looks like the secret love child of a Harley Davidson Motorcycle and a Kawasaki Street Bike, and comes with a whopping $80,000 price tag. Yikes! The company, which is favored by several celebrity motorcycle riders, has unveiled its newest model bike for the coming year, and it’s wowing us to no end. Personally, it looks uncomfortable, and is a far stretch from the classic two wheels we prefer, but with such a high price, we just had to look into here at BON.
The Superleggera is a series of motorcycles that has been a wildly popular consumer purchase from Ducati for several years. The MSRP of a used Superleggera stands between $50,000 and $75,000 – so these bikes totally hold their value. They’re sporty and fast – two things most riders prefer to have in their bikes. According to Wikipeia,
In 2014, Ducati launched the 1199 Superleggera (English: Superlight). The philosophy behind this motorcycle was the largest reduction of weight possible, achieved through the use of exotic materials such as magnesium (particularly the monocoque frame), carbon and titanium. This resulted in a dry weight of 155 kg (342 lb), and a wet weight of 177 kg (390 lb). Only 500 were produced.
