Raise your hand if you remember the 1991 biker action film, Harley Davidson And The Marlboro Man! The film, written by Don Michael Paul and directed by Simon Wincer, starred Mickey Rourke and Don Johnson, and turned out to be a failure of epic proportions at the box office back in 1991. But that didn’t stop it from becoming a cult classic of the 1990’s, which is why today, we’d like to take a look back to the now nearly 30 year old film by sharing its official trailer.

The film wasn’t just a failure at the box office – it was also a monumental financial failure in and of itself – as it cost $23 million to produce, and only earned $7 million upon its release to the public. Harley Davidson And The Marlboro Man promoted the classic male biker stereotype, being set in Los Angeles, CA in the then-future of 1996. Main character Harley Davidson (Mickey Rourke), stay clad for the entire film in biker gear, with super-short dyed hair. The story line begins when he peaks interest upon hearing about a dangerous new street drug named “Crystal Dream” from the radio.

Check out the trailer for the 1991 Harley Davidson And The Marlboro Man film, and tell us in the comments section if you watched this one back in the 90’s when it debuted. If you didn’t see it back then, are you willing to look it up and give it a watch now? How different do you think the film would be if it were to be remade now?
