Earlier this morning we shared the news with you straight from NY Daily; Harley Davidson has cancelled the visit that was (allegedly) scheduled with President of the United State Donald Trump, amid fears of planned protests. The newly elected President was supposed to stop at the Harley Davidson Factory in Milwaukee, WI, where he was set deliver an economic address highlighting manufacturing, as well as sign more executive orders related to American manufacturing. We’ve got the lowdown on the news for you here at BON, as well as exclusive video from the NY Daily News, announcing the decision to cancel the visit.

It seems that everywhere the POTUS is, there’s protesting happening. Women’s Marches have been staged by thousands all across the world – women fighting to keep the rights they’ve gained over the years, as well as protests against POTUS Trump’s new immigration and travel ban. These are the major reasons why Harley Davidson is confident in their decision to cancel the visit – they don’t want to bring the trouble right to their own front lawn, and the Milwaukee Coalition Against Trump was set in bringing their protests right to them. Simply, the American motorcycle manufacturer wasn’t comfortable with the likelihood that they’d end up at the center of any planned protests, and honestly, we don’t blame them.

The visit was not publicly announced, and Harley-Davidson issued a statement Tuesday night saying they “don’t have, nor did we have, a scheduled visit from the President this week at any of our facilities.” Furthermore, Harley Davidson corporate communication director, Maripat Blankenheim, issued a statement saying the following:

“We are proud to have hosted Presidential visits at our facilities. Three of the last five presidents — Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton — have visited us at our facilities. These visits are a testament to the pride and passion of our employees and their great work building Harley-Davidson motorcycles. We look forward to hosting the president in the future.”

Sounds a little fishy, huh?

Check out video from the NY Daily News, regarding the cancelled visit below, and tell us in the comments section if you agree with Harley Davidson’s decision to cancel the visit. Do you think, had the POTUS gone to Milwaukee, that Harley Davidson would have found themselves in the midst of protests? Why or why not?
