Duuude…it’s Tuesday. And since we’re such believers in tradition, we’re giving you the scoop on how to make today the ultimate Taco Tuesday! You don’t want to serve up the every day, boring, fall over, messy tacos for Taco Tuesday, right? How about serving up bacon weave tacos – with shells made out of your favorite strips of bacon? Oh hell yeah, that’s more than possible, because today at BON, we’re giving you the how-to on making it happen. Are you ready for the ultimate Taco Tuesday, BON Family? Let’s do it!!
Bacon Weave Tacos
Taco Shell (Directions):
What you need: 14 slices of bacon (per shell)
Start with a square bacon weave that used about 14 slices of bacon, or seven going in each direction. Cook the bacon weave in the oven at 400° for about 15 minutes before taking it out. Pat it down with paper towels to get rid of any excess grease. Place in an upside down bowl over top of it and trace around it with a knife until you have a circular bacon weave. Hang it over a couple kabob sticks that are balanced across empty beer bottles (or whatever oven-safe bottles you have on hand) to achieve a taco shell shape. Place them on a baking sheet, then its back into the oven for another 10 minutes to complete cooking.
Once it was done baking, fill it to the brim with seasoned ground beef, chicken, or turkey, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese, and any other delicious taco stuffings you can think of! You’ll be amazed as how it resembles a real corn taco shell!
