Iconic Singer George Michael Dead At Age 53

Since the staff here at BON took an extended weekend for the Christmas holiday, we are a couple of days late in reporting the tragic news that iconic singer George Michael has passed away. He was 53 years old, and the cause of death was confirmed as apparent heart failure. Having passed away on Christmas Day, George is the third celebrity in less than 2 weeks to succumb to cardiac related illness, following the tragic heart-related deaths of actor Alan Thicke and Fashionista Zsa Zsa Gabor.

Born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, George Michael shaped the music scene for generations to come. He is best known for his work in the 1980’s and 1990’s, and rose to fame as a member of the iconic music group, Wham!. Not only did George inspire fan through his musical talents, but he was also a talented songrwriter and producer, and upheld a very successful solo career for several decades.

Michael died in his bed at his home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, and was found by his partner Fadi Fawaz.
