Raymond Cruz, best known as the drug lord Tuco Salamanca in Breaking Bad (2008-2009) and its spin-off Better Call Saul (2015-2016), is confirmed for a role in Mayans MC.

Cruz will play Che ‘Padre’ Romero, a fully patched member of the Mayans MC. Cruz is scheduled to appear in the pilot and subsequent episode if the series gets picked up.

Mayans MC is a spin-off of Sons of Anarchy and is set in a post SOA era. The series starts approximately two-and-a-half years after the events of the original show. The plot will focus on the struggles of Ezekiel Reyes ‘EZ’, a prospect in charter located on the California/Mexico border. JD Pardo is confirmed to play the lead role. EZ is a gifted son of a proud Latino family, whose American dream was crushed by cartel violence. This resulted in a need for vengeance driving him to a life he can never escape.

Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter will co-write Mayans MC with Elgin James. The series was picked up by FX in December 2016. Fans of the hugely popular original series are anxiously awaiting a release date which is expected sometime in 2018.
