The Thunderbird Motorcycle Club, an MC based out of Duluth, Minnesota, has two very big passions – riding motorcycles, and helping Veterans. For years, they have been collecting and giving donations to the Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay, MN. The group of bikers consists of several Veterans itself, and this year, through various fundraisers, they were able to donate $3,000.00 to the residents at the Silver Bay home.

“It’s important to me to take care of the people that have taken care of keeping our country free as it is today.”

said Jack Rose, a Thunderbird charter member. Every year for the past two decades, the Thunderbird MC has presented a check to the home; raising funds through their annual Christmas party, and from proceeds collected from hosting many community events. They’ve even hosted a silent auction in the past to raise funds for the Veterans in their community. This year’s donations exceeded last year’s by $1,000.00.

The Thunderbirds are involved in several different causes – The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, assisting women’s shelters, the Northwoods Children’s Home, and doing what they can with helping displaced families, to name a few. Watch the news story from Minnesota’s Fox 21 News, and tell us in the comments how proud you are to have the Thunderbirds be a part of our great, big motorcycle family!
