World’s First Tattooed Motorcycle – The Recidivist

We’ve come across some pretty strange motorcycles, but The Recidivist takes the cake, it’s the world’s first skin covered tattooed motorcycle.

The bike was designed and built by Game Over Cycles and inked by Polish tattoo artists Tomasz Lech and Krzysztof Krolak. After five months of construction and 250 hours of ink time, the fully tattooed Recidivist was ready to ride.

Instead of using traditional airbrushing methods, the artists wanted the motorcycle to look like authentic tattooed skin. To resemble human skin, the designers covered the bike with light tan cowhide. The artists applied the tattoos to the cowhide using top grade Cheyenne Professional Tattoo Equipment.

The bike was based on a custom Harley Davidson Softail Model. It’s been completely stripped down to the bones except for the Twin Cam 96 engine and parts of the frame. The inspiration for the construction of the motorcycle is drawn from traditional coil tattoo machines.

Despite being inked, The Recidivist took home the award for Best Paint/Airbrush at the Custom Bike Show in Bad Salzuflen Germany in December 2014.
