‘The Wild One’ is a 1953 American film, considered to be the original outlaw biker film, and the first ever to examine American outlaw motorcycle gang violence. It starred Marlon Brando as Johnny Strabler, a surly, sneering and rebellious leader of a 40-man motorcycle gang, who wore the trademark black-leather jacket (with Johnny scrawled on the left chest), round dark shades, a white T-shirt, bulky aviator’s cap, skin-tight jeans, black gloves, and of course, boots. His persona would live to become a cultural icon of the 1950’s.

To be honest, we’re not sure if this particular Harley-Davidson commercial ever aired on television. Maybe you guys can tell us. We love it when you guys lend us a helping hand with stuff like this. Anyway, we have a special place in our hearts for the advertising team over at Harley-Davidson. The commercials they manage to think up are always entertaining. They seriously have some of the best advertising in the business, and with the commercial we are sharing with you today, you’ll see why we love their advertisements so much!
Picture it; you’re walking down the street an you come across a damsel having trouble mounting her motorcycle. She’s in a short skirt and just can’t seem to make the landing onto her bike without ripping it. She’s trying and trying; can’t quite figure out how to make it happen, and she looks to you for help. What do you do? Do you shake your head and walk away, or do you acknowledge that there’s a very sexy lady in trouble right in front of you and offer your help?
Do you guys watch the TV Series ‘How It’s Made‘? Personally, we find it to be just about one of the most interesting shows on television. The show is a documentary television series that premiered on January 6, 2001 on the Discovery Channel in Canada, and the Science Channel in the United States, and they’ve dedicated a portion of one of their episodes to the Harley-Davidson brand. They’ve highlighted everything we’ve ever wanted to know about how a Harley-Davidson is made, and we just think it’s so cool.
Any of y’all moving soon? Don’t be the guy in today’s video. Please. We beg of you. Don’t do it. Just don’t. We’ve all been there at least once – we’re packing up to move our lives into a new house, a new city, or a new state. Of course our motorcycles go with us – they’re our babies. And we aren’t always lucky enough to be able to ride them to their new homes. Sometimes we have to load them up onto a truck and save them some mileage. And that’s perfectly okay – if you’re not the guy in the video below.
We love to have our fair share of motorcycle fails here at BON right? Today’s your lucky day, BON friends and family, because we have in store, just for you, video of a super ridiculous Harley-Davidson burnout fail! No joke, the only burnout happening on this cruiser, is on the clutch. This video is almost painful to watch, really. The rider setup to burnout in style, with confidence, thinking he was about to lay down some serious rubber….annnnnd nope. Just nope. He pulled off a whole lot of nope.
Motorcycles don’t get more vintage than the D-RAD R9. Deutsche Werke AG, the manufacturer of the D-RAD R9, used to be just a state-owned armaments manufacturer, before diversifying into the production of bedsteads, agricultural machinery, and railway rolling stock after The Great War. Around the year 1921, they set up the company Deutsche Kraftfahrzeugwerke AG in Spandau, to manufacture motorcycles under the ‘Star’ brand name. While we can’t be sure of the year of the particular motorcycle in today’s video, we do know that it was produced between the years 1929 and 1930 – read on to find out why.
The Brand New 2017 Harley Davidson Street Rod promises to be a fun time, with the highly anticipated High Output Revolution X™ V-Twin engine, that boasts 46 cu in and a bore/stroke of 3.4/2.6 in. The Street Rod has always been one of our most favorite line of motorcycles over here at BON, and 2017 looks to be a promising year for the longtime Harley-Davidson model. This year’s Street Rod is a muscular middle-weight bike built to blitz the city streets.

YouTuber lawmansbabe1969 has provided us with some pretty epic internet gold for today! She uploaded some video a few year back of her man’s first ever ride on a Harley-Davidson (if we’re not mistaken, it was his first ride ever), and it goes so horribly wrong, that we can’t help but share it. There’s seriously more wrong than right in this video – so much so that we might actually use it as a reason to hand out some helpful beginner’s riding tips in this post.
It’s no secret that vehicle thefts are on an all time rise, and motorcycles are no exception to it. More than 40,000 motorcycles are stolen each year in the United States – a total of 45,555 motorcycles were reported stolen in 2015 alone – so what can you do to prevent yourself from falling victim to having yours stolen? The video we have for you today details an incredible 110db Alarm Disc Lock for your motorcycle – which is a must have when our iron horses are being targeted by thieves.
Holy crap. It is estimated that only 4.4% of deer crashes in the United States involve motorcyclists. That is why it is so shocking that during a Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, a deer would run across the road and take out a motorcyclist while attempting to jump over him. No joke, it really happened. The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is done worldwide, on the same day, every year, to raise awareness for prostate cancer – but this particular deer did not care on that day. The motorcyclist himself is incredibly lucky, as most deer vs motorcycle crashes prove to be fatal.
Chrome isn’t just a browser on your desktop screen, ladies and gents, it’s a versatile styling tool when it comes to your bikes, your cars, and just about anything else you want to see shine! Matias Ferreira, a 28 year old motorcyclist and Marine Corps Veteran just became the first double-amputee to hold a full-time Police Officer position in the United States. The Afghanistan War Veteran was sworn in as an officer to the Suffolk County, NY Police Department on Friday, March 24, 2017 after having just completed 29 weeks of police training at the Suffolk County Police Academy on Long Island. Ferreria was a Lance Corporal in the Marines in 2011 when he was injured; he lost his legs just below the knee during a nighttime operation in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Today’s video will take you back to the days of riding on those long, twisty, and totally unsafe back roads with your parents. If we could name this particular video, it would be one word, and one word only: nostalgia. This is how you remember dad and all of his biker buddies – riding old school bikes that they likely pieced together all weekend long. And there are no days you remember better as a kid, watching them with their bikes, knowing someday, you’d be doing the same thing.

*DISCLAIMER* – No bikers were hurt in the making of this video. (At least we don’t think so.)
Just kidding! Today’s video is a hilarious scene from the 2002 movie “The Sweetest Thing“, starring Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate, and Selma Blair. “The Sweetest Thing” is an American romantic comedy film directed by Roger Kumble and written by Nancy Pimental, who based the characters on herself and real-life friend Kate Walsh. This bike cop from Grand Prairie, TX will blow you away with his insane motorcycle riding skills! Freedom comes in many forms.
That is the official message from Roadtrek Motorhomes about Daytona Bike Week 2017. They’re right – freedom does come in so many different forms. While most of us search for freedom on only two wheels, Roadtrek Motorhomes wants all of us to know that freedom knows no limits.
YouTuber RelentlessIrons18 wrote and shared an incredibly tragic and moving biker poem through his personal YouTube, and we’d be heartless if we didn’t share it with our beautiful BON Family. Get the tissues ready for this one, because it is sad, and scary, and you won’t see that ending coming.
Holy shit, brothers and sisters. The happenings in today’s video will certainly get your blood pumping. We love stories about bikers doing the right thing – the typical stereotype doesn’t help any of us, honestly, and when we get the proof of a biker going above and beyond to help someone else, we can’t help but share it with all of you. So this biker is stuck in gridlock traffic. He just stops for a light, when you hear a beep, and out of freakin’ nowhere this dude runs past him at full speed, clutching a stolen purse in his hand. Seriously, where did the dude come from?
There’s an amazing group of motorcyclists that hail out of Madison, WI, named “Hogs For Heroes”. Founded by two brothers and their wives – Kevin, Audra, Craig, Michelle – their mission is simply to help as many Veterans in Wisconsin as they can. “Hogs For Heroes” was born when Kevin wanted to combine two long time passions of his, supporting Veterans and riding motorcycles – and in the fall of 2014, he read an article on the therapeutic benefits of motorcycle ownership among Veterans who live with PTSD. From there he choose to focus specifically on Wisconsin Veterans. Fast forward almost three years, and Kevin and “Hogs For Heroes” is now seeking a Veteran to gift a brand new Harley-Davidson motorcycle to.

The street will never be the same again with these three badboys racing down it – all have their own unique stylings and are helping Triumph owners find newer, faster roads.
Raise your hand if you remember the 1991 biker action film, Harley Davidson And The Marlboro Man! The film, written by Don Michael Paul and directed by Simon Wincer, starred Mickey Rourke and Don Johnson, and turned out to be a failure of epic proportions at the box office back in 1991. But that didn’t stop it from becoming a cult classic of the 1990’s, which is why today, we’d like to take a look back to the now nearly 30 year old film by sharing its official trailer.
The English Bulldog in today’s video has the biker code down pat. It ain’t easy looking all cute and cool while riding a motorcycle, but this motorcycle riding pup, who goes by the name of Sweets, does it with ease. Sweets knows how to do motorcycle safety – that’s obvious with her super cool helmet and goggles – but she also knows the way of the road. She looks around for other riders while she’s cruising, and knows that you don’t pass another biker out there without at least saying hello.
To look at the incredible, one of a kind Lamborghini Motorcycle is to take a look into the mind of a man who is quite one of a kind himself, Chuck Beck. He is a living look back into the do-it-yourself speed culture that we knew to be the 1960’s, and the creative engineering that is his mind has developed literally anything and everything that you could imagine. He was a master fabricator for Shelby in his earlier days, building a supercar destroyer from a Ford Fiesta, and he made his career by building fiberglass replicas of both Lister and Porche racing cars. More recently, Beck built a motorcycle using a Lamborghini V-12 powered engine.
Ugh, our hearts. Last week, hundreds of Ducati motorcycles were destroyed in a fire at a Escondido, CA dealership – one its owners spent over a decade building. The building was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters were called to the blaze at about 10:30 PM, to the Moto Forza dealership in Escondido. The blaze, which totaled the small community dealership, has the owners, employees, and dedicated customers in tears.
Ladies and gents…do not try this at home. Because we love you and we want you to live. The video we’re sharing with you today only reiterates that it is not always about the bike one is on, but that its about the skill that rider possesses. Both the Dyna rider and the rider filming it all in today’s video possess extreme skill; the kind of skill that some of us only wish to have, and what happens will totally blow your mind.

The video we have for you today will completely reaffirm your love for Harley-Davidson. It’s a standoff at a red light; a Harley sits, awaiting the light to turn green when he is approached by another rider, who sits on a Yamaha R6 street bike, and motions for him to race down the next stretch of roadway. From the looks of it, the Harley might be a Street Glide, maybe a Softail – it’s hard to tell – however, the model doesn’t particularly matter when he leaves the Yamaha R6 in his dust.
The first Wall of Death in the British Isles appeared in Southend during June 1929 at the Kursaal Amusement Park, one of the world’s very first amusement parks, and featured motorcycles on a 20 ft wooden wall. The Wall Of Death was a carnival sideshow, which featured a silo (or barrel-shaped) wooden cylinder, ranging from 20 to 36 feet in diameter, and was made of wooden planks. Inside such a structure, motorcyclists would travel along the vertical wall and perform stunts, only to be held in place by friction and centrifugal force. Today, we’re sharing video with you from the past, of a female motorcyclist performing stunts at the Southend Wall Of Death, and it is wild!
The bike in today’s video is truly one of a kind. It’s not just a motorcycle, it’s a beautiful piece of artwork. The Harley-Davidson Shovelhead Gooseneck is a beauty all of its own, and this one in particular will have you melting into a puddle. The sound of this beast is music to the ears, not to mention the clean and perfectly maintained body of this amazing creature. The owner of this bike must be one proud papa, because this one is an extra special piece for the Harley-Davidson lover.
The road is our path to freedom as motorcyclists. It can also contain several obstacles, such as potholes, sink holes, cracks, pooling/ponding of water, plus the months of construction it takes to fix those obstacles, sometimes causing delays for our riding time, and making stressful times out of our bike trips. But, what if there was another way? KWS, a VolkerWessels company based in Vianen, the Netherlands has been working on a plastic composite road concept, called the Plastic Road, and it may soon become a reality.
Every now and then, we like to look into motorcycle history here at BON. In 1930’s Munich, Germany, if one was looking for some entertainment to fulfill their day, they might find it in some daring and insane motorcycle gymnasts, performing tricks and stunts alongside the roaring of motorcycle engines. See, back in the 1930’s, Germany was the epicenter of leading motorcycle manufacturers; clinching the reputation of being the country with the highest density of motorcycles in the entire world – earning the right to show off.
So, we came across the coolest thing. It’s this little gadget called the Brush Hero, and seriously, it is so cool and so handy, it’ll have you wanting to wash your bike every day! You may even find yourself wanting to wash everything with it…your grill, your car, maybe even that one thing you’ve totally been putting off that the old lady has been nagging you for months to clean. We’re not kidding. It’ll change the way you clean your bike forever.
Harley-Davidson is facing a particularly slow domestic market – a situation that is only offset by a 2.3% increase in international company sales. This is bad news, which has forced the Milwaukee based motorcycle manufacturer to come up with some ideas to boost sales and generate new interest in the company. What have they been able to brainstorm to combat their sales woes? A plan, to roll out 50 new motorcycle models, within the next 5 years – including an all electric motorcycle.
After news this week broke that Harley-Davidson cancelled a visit with President of The United States Donald Trump at their plant in Milwaukee, WI, executives from the company decided instead, to attend a meeting with the commander in chief on his own turf, in Washington, DC. The original meeting, which was supposed to focus on American manufacturing strategies in the US, allegedly came with too many fears of planned protests, forcing Harley-Davidson to regroup and find a different way to make the meet happen.
The Thunderbird Motorcycle Club, an MC based out of Duluth, Minnesota, has two very big passions – riding motorcycles, and helping Veterans. For years, they have been collecting and giving donations to the Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay, MN. The group of bikers consists of several Veterans itself, and this year, through various fundraisers, they were able to donate $3,000.00 to the residents at the Silver Bay home.
It’s no secret that Budweiser has popped out some pretty epic Superbowl commercials in the past, and this year only proves, that alongside Harley-Davidson, Budweiser has some of the best advertising in the business. For years, Budweiser has wowed us with amazing commercial concepts, and the 2017 Budweiser Superbowl commercial, named “Born The Hard Way” has a twist to it, that none of us saw coming.
You have got to give the little lady in today’s video the ultimate credit for not giving up. The woman appears to be about 80 pounds soaking wet, and gives it her all, again and again, to try and kickstart an old school Harley Davidson Chopper motorcycle. She even doubts she can get it started, at first, and the video is almost painful to watch, as she uses both of her tiny little legs to force the kick start lever down to fire up the bike.
Earlier this morning we shared the news with you straight from NY Daily; Harley Davidson has cancelled the visit that was (allegedly) scheduled with President of the United State Donald Trump, amid fears of planned protests. The newly elected President was supposed to stop at the Harley Davidson Factory in Milwaukee, WI, where he was set deliver an economic address highlighting manufacturing, as well as sign more executive orders related to American manufacturing. We’ve got the lowdown on the news for you here at BON, as well as exclusive video from the NY Daily News, announcing the decision to cancel the visit.
Wild Willy Parsons is an outstanding biker, who has also been a successful comedian since 1985. Since then, he has pushed to remove the typical biker stereotypes, and has done so by taking the stage in search of laughs, fun times, and a great audience. He tours the country steadily, and headlines clubs, corporate functions, benefits, and of course, biker events. The now divorced father of two has made himself as household name, known nationally as The World’s Original Biker Comic. Today we’re sharing with you, one of his live shows, from a few years back at Caroline’s in New York City.
Sometimes, Harley Davidson is what makes a family. That statement totally rings true in the commercial we’re sharing with you today. Sponsored by Michelin, this commercial will seriously have you reaching for the tissues. I don’t know how we’ve failed to come across this one before, but I’m not ashamed to say that it’s definitely made me teary eyed. It epitomizes the love a father has for his children, and the bond they’re able to strengthen through their love of Harley Davidson motorcycles.
