Kurt Sutter Fired From FX After Multiple Complaints Of Abrasive Behavior

After an 18 year relationship with the FX Network, Kurt Sutter creator of the beloved Sons of Anarchy and spin-off Mayans M.C. has been let go. Fans have always loved the story telling and mind twists that Sutter has brought to his shows, it is what has made SOA a legend in the entertainment community.

It was announced back in August that he was planning on stepping down from Mayans M.C. after the second season wrapped. Sutter stating that it was time for…

“the white man to leave the building”

Filming has ended for Season 2 and FX took their moment. Kurt Sutter has always been very outspoken about his ‘I don’t give a f*ck’ attitude towards what people think about him. He is who he is and he’s never really apologized for that, but now in a letter written about his departure he owns up to being an “abrasive dick”, The letter was picked up by The Hollywood Reporter in which he writes:

“It’s been reported by writers, producers, cast and crew that my absence and subsequent behavior when there, has only created confusion, chaos, hostility and is perceived as abandonment. Or at least that’s how Disney has interpreted it. I’m sure it’s true. This morning I was fired by Dana Walden and John Landgraf for all the complaints levied against me. Not the way I wanted to end my 18 year relationship with FX. At least being fired for being an abrasive dick is on brand.”

He goes out saying…

“I deeply apologize if I’ve made people feel less than or unsupported. My intention was literally the opposite. But clearly I’ve not been paying attention. My arrogance and chronic distraction has created wreckage. Just know, I adore this cast and crew.”

Fans of his work are deeply saddened but we know this won’t be the end of his legacy. We will forever love you Kurt, onwards and upwards Sons and Mayans fanatics.
