Fans who are anticipating the release of FX’s Mayans M.C. season three this fall, might have to wait even longer than expected.

Since the Mayans M.C. made their season three renewal announcement back in November 2019, fans have been awaiting production updates, as well as the official premiere date. It was expected that season three would appear in September 2020, but the Coronavirus may have put a damper on those plans.

According to a “ask me anything” Reddit thread with actress Sarah Bolger, who plays the character of Emily Thomas on Mayans M.C., the filming for season three had been delayed back in May, due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. When she was asked if she had begun filming season three, she replied “Not yet!! Can’t wait to get back to work. We just have to wait until it’s safe to do so. Fingers crossed we get to start season three soon.”

As of September 9th, 2020, we have yet to see an official update from FX about the production delay or details regarding the premiere date for season three. Check out the video below for more details about the filming delay.

Mayans M.C. season three renewal announcement came just a few weeks after the shocking announcement that the show’s co-creator, Kurt Sutter, had been fired due to his abrasive behavior. Rumors circulated that Mayans M.C. may not live to see another season without Sutter’s hand, but fans rejoiced when the news broke that the show would be renewed for a third season.
